Victories

Hi Friends!!

After a full summer in Mexico, I have returned to Salamanca with a lot of excitement, drive, and I feel blessed to be able to come back and see everyone.

One of the biggest victories that can happen inside En Vivo is seeing a student get to know God in a real way, and I have seen that in the life of Lorena! Lorena and I have spent a lot of time together and built up a good relationship. This week I was praying with her, and in her prayer, Lorena asked for acceptance from God, her family, and people in her life she was struggling with and for God to show His love to her. She had gone a long time without prayer and this prayer was just the beginning! That night she returned to her house with her heart focused on God and prayed the same prayer: that she could experience acceptance and love, especially from God. She was crying in her room when her father walked in. Up until this point they hadn’t had the best relationship. He saw her crying and gave her a big hug, kissed her head, and told her loved her and will always love her. I can’t imagine a better example of the love of God for her in that moment.
I am going to start a weekly study with her and I ask for your prayers as we start and for Lorena to continue to recognize the way God is working her life and how much He loves her.

The semester here has started! Our first event was our “Fiesta de Bienvenida” where we had a HUGE turnout of people, lots of food, great music, and a ‘speed dating’ activity to get to know each other better. I was super excited because there were 5 girls from Mexico that came and it made my night!

This year I am co-leading the “núcleo” which is the core group of students who are most involved in En Vivo. There are 14 students this year and we meet once a week to eat together and go deeper faith-wise with a Bible Study. Each week our ‘talk’ at our big event “Connections” will align with what we discuss in the núcleo. For example our first talk series is the “DNA” of En Vivo. So when we discussed hospitality during the talk, we read the passage about “Mary and Martha” and had a discussion about who showed better hospitality. Also, the núcleo is a space where we can empower students to show the love of Christ to the world around them. I am excited to see what God is going to do with the group this year. I appreciate your prayers for the núcleo!

I am very content with my team, job, and all of the responsibilities have this new year! I ask for your prayers for everything and that we can continue to follow what God has planned for us and to rest in his love.

God is doing big things in Salamanca and in the lives of us here!

Thank you so much for everyone who has signed up to support me financially!! It is such a blessing to have you on my support team. If anyone would like to join, I invite you to! I am currently in need of 1,000 more Euros every month if I’m going to stay longer in Spain (which is my hope). You can head to my CMF Page and click the Give button. You can either do monthly donations or one time! If you´re interested, please go ahead and send me a message so we can talk about it :)
If financial giving isn’t something you are able to do, I covet your prayers and feel very grateful you are following my journey and the ways God is working in Spain. Thank you.
